Shrimp ruining lake's fisheries

| October 3, 2004 9:00 PM

In regards to the public meeting on Sept. 15 by the Idaho Department Fish and Game. The meeting was, for once, conducted very well with the exception of one individual, Mr. Hobart Jinkins, who is the chairman of the citizens advisory committee. I would like to know how long this man has lived here and if he was here fishing this lake before the mica shrimp were put in? He obviously doesn't know anything of the history of this lake or he would have known many years ago how long a kokanee lives. Every lake where shrimp were introduced the kokanee fishing was ruined.

This has been well documented many times over.

If Mr. .Jinkins doesn't like what is discussed at these meetings, maybe he should be quiet or stop coming to these meetings and stop interrupting a man who knows much more about this lake than he ever will. If he believes the IFG is improving the fishing in this lake and if he believes all the studies they make are true, then he needs a lot of help.

If you have nothing constructive to say or don't know what you're talking about, be quiet and stop interrupting someone who does. If this is the kind of people who have on this committee, God help us.
