Wayne Stewart 'Stewie' Rasmussen, 83

Wayne Stewart "Stewie" Rasmussen, 83, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at his home in Sagle, Idaho.

A private memorial gathering will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at the family home in Sagle. Memorial services will also be held in Rockford, Ill., in November.

Stewie was born on Sept. 13, 1920, in Porter, Wis., to Raymond and Helen (Stewart) Rasmussen.

He was employed by Commonwealth Edison in Rockford, Ill., for 40 years. He was an active member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

He married Dawn Marston on Nov. 7, 1942, in Rockford. In 1992, the couple retired to their home on Lake Pend Oreille near Sandpoint.

He enjoyed spending his time working on his projects and taking care of his yard. He had an avid interest in model trains, boating and airplanes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dawn Rasmussen of Sagle, Idaho; three daughters, Sandra (Reuben) Streifel of Spokane, Wash., Jody (M. Starr) Rasmussen of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jill (Steve) Marzorati of Rockford, Ill.; two sons, Michael (Maureen) Rasmussen of Chandler, Ariz., and Scott Rasmussen of Spokane, Wash.; six grandchildren, Steffan Streifel, Michelle and Anthony Marzorati, Meghan, Meredith and Mitchell Rasmussen; and numerous nieces and nephews, friends and the neighbor's dog, "Summer."

The family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation to Dr. John Klim, the staff on the cardiac unit at Sacred Heart Hospital, and the Bonner Community Hospice staff.
