Jane Elizabeth Wiens, 72, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Aug. 28, 2004. She had suffered with Parkinson's Disease for the last five years.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004. The services will be held at the Schweikert family residence, located at 2090 Hoodoo Mountain Road. Associate pastor Geoff Rinehart will officiate and a potluck dinner will follow the service.

Jane was born in California on Sept. 27, 1931, and graduated from St. John's High School in Fresno, Calif. She received a bachelor of science degree and then served the Catholic church as a teacher for 18 years as sister Mary Angela Hanson. Following her teaching years, she received her master's degree in the arts.

She continued her teaching career in Watsonville, Calif., later living in Socorro, N.M. In 2001, she moved to Hoodoo Mountain near Priest River.

Jane was a member of the Lakeview Community Church in Coeur d'Alene. She enjoyed roller-skating and skated on a roller skate performance team in California. She also was an accomplished tailor, seamstress and artist.

She is survived by her brother, Walter Hanson of California; and numerous nieces and nephews including locally Mary Evelyn Schweikert of Priest River. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry Wiens; and two sisters, Margaret and Evelyn May.

Memorials may be made to Bonner Community Hospice in memory of Jane E. Wiens.

Arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
