Lance D. Roy, 33, of Coeur d'Alene passed away on Sept. 10, 2004, in Coeur d'Alene.

Graveside memorial services will be held at noon Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004, at the Westmond Cemetery in Westmond/Cocolalla, Idaho.

Lance was born Aug. 21, 1971, to Larry J. Roy and Ro Jean (Weaver) Roy.

He moved to Cocolalla with his family when he was 7 and graduated from Sandpoint High School.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving two years and was stationed in Bremerton, Wash. After his discharge from the military, he returned to the Coeur d'Alene area.

Lance worked for Kootenai Electric and was training as an apprentice lineman. He then worked miscellaneous jobs and then went to Alaska, where he worked on fishing boats.

He loved motor cross racing, water sports and hunting. Lance enjoyed camping and always referred to Idaho as God's country.

He is survived by his mother, Ro Jean and stepfather, Fred Gravelle, of Cocolalla, Idaho; his father, Larry, and his stepmother, Bonnie, Roy of Aloha, Ore.; his daughter, Ashlie Roy of Sagle, Idaho; his stepdaughter, Katie McIntire of Sagle; a sister, Lona Lindstrom of Coeur d'Alene; three brothers, Rob Gravelle of Rathdrum, Idaho, Jeff Gravelle of Dalton Gardens, Idaho, and David Gravelle of Hauser Lake, Idaho; and his grandmothers, Bernice Weaver of Lewiston, Idaho, and Edna Poston of Post Falls, Idaho.
