Readers help lasso farm stains

| September 14, 2004 9:00 PM

Last week I received a very nice letter from Frieda Grove. She had several cleaning suggestions that I thought I would share with you.

For those us who have grown up on a farm or ranch know how hard it is to get the stains from cow and horse manure out of your jeans. Frieda suggests washing the stained britches in cold water. To remove the smell of diesel and gas from your clothing she suggests washing the clothes using Simple Green and then add 1 cup of white vinegar to the rinse water.

Frieda, thank you so very much for sharing your cleaning ideas with the reading audience.

If you are allergic to any of the above products, please don't use them. Always test fabrics and paints before using any chemical compounds. Please remember to wear rubber gloves to protect your hands and eye protection for your eyes.

If you would like to share a cleaning idea or concept with the reading audience, called Ed at NWES (255-2266) or send them to Bonner County Daily Bee. 310 Church St., Sandpoint, ID 8i864. Attn: What Would Ed Do?
