WALLACE — In their first North Star League game of the season, Clark Fork Wampus Cats dominated league newcomer Wallace 34-12 Friday.

Clark Fork junior Brian Young led the Cats with 28 carries for 319 yards and three touchdowns.

Senior quarterback Clayton Hewitt carried the ball seven times for 109 yards and a touchdown, while junior Bill Clayton added 17 yards and a TD to the final total.

"This was definitely a stellar game," said Clark Fork coach Frank Hammersley. "For every hit they gave we came right back with another."

Offensively, the Wampus Cats had a total of 446 yards on the ground, but only 60 through the air.

"Wallace is big up front, but they just couldn't get anything going," said Hammersley. "We just flat out stopped them."

Clark Fork (3-0) plays Lakeside in Harrison on Friday.
