Ray Allen Thompson, 67

Ray Allen Thompson, 67, was called home on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004, after a heroic battle with cancer.

Memorial services will be held at noon on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sandpoint Ward, with Bishop Jeffrey Howell conducting. Private family burial will be held at the Pack River Cemetery.

Ray was born March 24, 1937, in Chewelah, Wash. His life's adventures included growing up on a farm near Colville, Wash., serving in the U.S. Navy as a cook and a Seabee, and owning and operating a logging company.

He married Carol Jean Bader, the girl of his dreams, on March 11, 1961, in St. Maries, Idaho.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Thompson of Sandpoint, Idaho; three sons, Allen Thompson of Sagle, Idaho, Jon Thompson of Maple Valley, Wash., and Kevin Thompson of Kalispell, Mont.; a daughter of Carolyn "Kami" Hill of Sandpoint; and 15 grandchildren.
