Randy L. Poss, 57
Randy L. Poss, 57, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Sept. 17, 2004, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Randy will be greatly missed by those who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at possibilities Tree Farm at 2411 Elmira Road. All are invited.
He was born on Feb. 20, 1947, in Denver, Colo., and grew up in Steamboat Springs, Colo., and various other western towns. He graduated from high school in LaCrosse, Wis., in 1965.
Randy married Bette Witt on Nov. 25, 1970, in Glenwood Springs, Colo. During his time there, he worked both in the skiing and sporting goods industries.
In 1977, Randy and his family moved to the Elmira area of Bonner County. He worked as a welder and machinist before establishing an ornamental tree nursery.
Randy was the current president of the Idaho Nursery and Landscape Association and served on the Bonner County Weed Board.
He touched many lives with his quick humor, compassion and straightforward views on life. Some of his many interests included woodworking, computers and storytelling.
Randy is survived by his wife, Bette; a daughter, Keely Poss; his father and stepmother, Ralph and Barbara Poss, all of Sandpoint; his mother, Pat Horrell of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Cherie Wolcott of Tucson; and many nieces and nephews.
Randy was preceded in death by his son, Ryan, in 1998.
Memorial donations may be made in Randy's name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
