Sandpoint defeats Post Falls

POST FALLS — Cruising to a 25-17, 25-14, 25-22 victory over the Trojans at Post Falls, the Sandpoint volleyball team improved their Inland Empire League record to 3-2.

Senior Caitlyn Free led the Bulldogs with 10 kills and a block. Senior Kelsey James had 12 assists and eight aces, while senior Ketti Wehrle finished with 18 digs.

"The girls played really well and they had some amazing moments tonight," said Sandpoint coach Tiwi Nicks. "Overall they did a great job and we definitely needed that win."

The Bulldogs ( 3-2, 6-3) play Lakeland on Thursday in Sandpoint.

Post Falls Christian

The Clark Fork Wampus Cats defeated Post Falls Christian 25-9, 25-11, 25-17 in North Star League action Tuesday.

"The girls finally finished a match strong and we have couple of them that are starting to step up as leaders," said Clark Fork coach Kati Hess. "They are just starting to realized they need to talk on the court and be up all the time no matter what team we play."

Junior Tiffany VanBuren led the Cats with 20 digs, two kills and two aces. Junior Tia Becker had seven digs, nine assists and four aces, while Michelle Haase 20 digs, eight assists, one kill and eight aces

"I'm really proud of the girls their starting to play well as a team.

Jennifer Gauthier earned 10 digs, nine kills and seven aces. Jolene Meredith had 10 digs, four kills, one block and two aces.

Clark Fork (2-3, 4-7) plays host to Coeur d'Alene Charter on Thursday.
