LPOSD headed in right direction
My hat is now off to the LPOSD school board — batting four for four by my book: Going to the education model, ending an era of nepotism, the timely opening the books to all of us riff-raff citizens for examination (the daily attendance records regarding the emergency levy were truly open to the public before the meeting — a refreshing experience, for sure) and considering this year's emergency levy in the manner and the intent for which the levy process was designed.
And Mr. Mark, actually giving the board and the public all the numbers for a truly frank and open decision on the emergency levy. More refreshing is Mr. Mark's granting even though the law allowed the levy, the situation didn't quite fit the intent of the law.
How rejuvenating compared to the apparent snake-oil salesman, money-grubbing appearance of previous administrations.
Let's please keep going in this direction.
Changing track — a special appreciation to Miss Lucy for baring her soul to all. I have a feeling many will condemn the story. My challenge back — her story represents "everyman." From both sides. There are always two sides. The ones who go off to their big adventures, and the ones who stay home and keep the lamp light lit. For those who feel left out, may I suggest you drop Miss Lucy a line and share your stories with her. I for one want to hear them.
Gotta go now (248, 249, 250).
