Mary B. Peterson, 92, passed away in Sandpoint on Monday, Sept. 20, 2004.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2004, in Coffelt's Moon Chapel. Pastor Randy Beal, Assembly of God minister, will officiate with interment in Lakeview Cemetery.

Mary was born in Elk, Wash., on March 7, 1912, the daughter of Peter and Frieda Podlas. She grew up in Camden, Wash., and graduated from high school in Elk, Wash.

She married Henry "Hank" Peterson on May 8, 1930, in Spokane, Wash.

She lived in Priest Lake, Idaho, where her husband was the ranger on the Kalispell District for 10 years. She moved to Sandpoint in 1940.

She was devoted to her family, her home, her garden, her church and her neighbors.

She is survived by two sons, Theodore and Linda Peterson of Hamilton, Mont., and Richard and Laura Peterson of Heron, Mont.; four grandchildren, Mark and Janet Peterson of Rexford, Mont., Diane Nishimori of Post Falls, Idaho, Stephanie Brasch of Post Falls and Jennifer Peterson of Eugene, Ore.; three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hank; a son, Douglas Kent; a brother, Peter; and a sister, Frieda.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
