Ronald Dean Henriksen, 70

Ronald Dean Henriksen, 70, passed away March 31, 2005 at home surrounded by his loving family.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2005, at First Presbyterian Church 318 S. Cedar St. in Spokane, Wash., with the Rev. Gary Foster officiating.

He was born Sept. 3, 1934, in Pierre, S.D., he later moved to Spokane with his family. He graduated from West Valley High School and married his high school sweetheart, Arline Kimball in June 1954.

In 1958 he graduated from Whitworth College and the family moved to Seattle, where Ron began a career with Standard Oil of California. In 1962 they moved to the Bay area, and in 1974 to St. Maries, Idaho, where Ron managed the St. Joe Valley Medical Clinic.

After retiring from the clinic, Ron and Arline enjoyed their friends and living in the scenic beauty of Sandpoint, Idaho.

They returned to Spokane in 2003. Being an active, lively man, Ron could never completely retire. He filled his days with his passion for creative construction projects, making friends, telling stories and inspiring laughter.

Ron was well known for his friendly style, his explosive laughter and his endless eagerness to lend a hand. He loved the outdoors and camping with his friends and family.

He had been a member of St. Maries Community Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian Church of Sandpoint and Spokane, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was also a past-president of Kiwanis.

He is survived by his wife Arline Henriksen, daughters Rondi Anderson and Lori Henriksen; grandchildren Kayla and Erik Anderson, all of Spokane; sister Kay Cook; and brothers Jerry and Gale Henriksen.

Riplinger Funeral Home, 4305 N. Division St. Spokane, is entrusted with cremation.
