Lovell leads Bulldog effort

MOSCOW — Knocking off 20 strokes from their previous team score, the Sandpoint boys golf team finished seventh place at the Moscow Invitational Golf Tournament Tuesday.

"When you think of it, we are not that far away from competing with Moscow and Post Falls," said Sandpoint coach Mike Keough.

Junior Joey Lovell led the Bulldog pack with a score of 76, while senior Andrew Genovese posted an 81. Sandpoint's team score of 347 was 22 strokes behind first place Lewiston. Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene tied for second with 328 points.

The Sandpoint girls play in the Coeur d'Alene invite at the Hayden Lake Country Club today. The Bulldog boys play in Chewelah on Friday.

1A Golf

SANDPOINT — Led by co-medalists Nate Allen and Chris Curry, the Clark Fork boys golf team scored a 355 to capture their first win of the season at Hidden Lakes Golf Resort Tuesday.

The 10-over-par performance from Allen and Curry helped the Wampus Cats best second place Wallace by 32 strokes.

Playing just nine holes, the girls were led by medalist Brittany Wild of Wallace, who posted a score of 49. The Miners were also the only team to record a complete team score of 273.
