Joyce Marie Fontaine, 58

Joyce Marie Fontaine, 58, passed away, Wednesday, April 13, 2005, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

A celebration of Joyce's life will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 17, 2005, at the New Song Bible Church with Pastor Barry Johnson and son Pastor Edward Fontaine officiating.

Joyce was born on Jan. 29, 1947, in Montross, Va., to Everet and Amy Balderson. Her father served in the military, and she grew up attending schools in South Carolina, California, and Klamath Falls, Ore. She married Gerald Hosterman when she was younger and he later passed away.

On Aug. 17, 1996, Joyce marred Jeane Fontaine in Sandpoint. She worked at Superior Day Care as a preschool teacher, and was known as "Miss Joyce." Joyce knew the Lord, and carried an inner peace.

She was a member of the New Song Bible Church and the Eagles Lodge. She loved lighthouses, computer games, playing slot machines, bowling, Lost in the '50s, dancing and her dog, Bo. She enjoyed stamping and making cards, crocheting, cooking, baking, gardening, and raising chickens.

She is survived by her husband, Jeane Fontaine of Sagle, Idaho; a son, Gerald "JR" Hosterman of Sandpoint; a daughter, Jeraldine Hosterman of Flagstaff, Ariz.; step-children, Edward Fontaine of Oxnard, Calif., and Marianne (Bill) Palmer of Ojai, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Bob Balderson of Carolina Beach, N.C., and Bill Balderson of Wilmington, N.C.; and a sister, Linda Williams of Wilmington, N.C.

The family would like to thank the New Song Bible Church for their prayers, love and help during Joyce's illness, as well as Bonner Community Hospice and Life Care Center.
