Shawn Walker hits a hole-in-one for Priest River

CHEWELAH — Sandpoint junior Joey Lovell scored a two-over-par 74 for a second place individual finish at the Chewelah Invitational Golf Tournament Friday.

"I was obviously very pleased with Joey's score," said Sandpoint coach Mike Keough, who would like to see the Bulldogs make a little more headway on league opponents Moscow and Post Falls. "We're where we need to be to make that jump to catch Moscow, and I think we are still capable of doing that."

Out of 25 teams playing at the Chewelah Country Club, the Sandpoint boys golf team placed 12th overall with a score of 360. University High School took first with 329.

A hole-in-one by Shawn Walker on the 11th hole highlighted Priest River's effort. Bonners Ferry finished 18th.
