Tickets are out of control in the Sandpoint area

| April 18, 2005 9:00 PM

Is it true it's against the law in Sandpoint to sneeze? If your tow's desire (the growing community on the "big lake)" is policeman that are overdoing their duties to the point of being bullies than you, the residents, are getting your tax money's worth. If your goal is to scare away patrons and visitors, your efforts are proving to be successful. My friend and neighbor, a retired Cleveland, Ohio, policeman of 38 years recently received a ticket of $58 going out of town into a designated speed increase. He says towns that have too many policemen get bored and pick on residents and visitors. Too much fore is too much force. Everyone, even policemen, make small mistakes in their lives daily — innocent humans make small harmless mistakes. Will you prosecute and fine all of them?
