BONNERS FERRY — Sandpoint surged ahead in the fourth inning for a 15-5 win over Bonners Ferry on Thursday.
The Bulldogs and Badger were neck and neck with a run here and a run there until Bonners Ferry pitching weakened and Sandpoint started connecting with the ball.
"It was a great game until the fourth, then we just started walking popel," said Badger coach Tom Turpin.
However, the team is doing well defensively, he said.
Sandpoint coach Dave Siemsen attributed the win to the boys getting more hits.
"We just started hitting the ball really well," he said.
Sandpoint's Ricky Klontz went three for five with a double, Jake Way went two for four, Noah Hawkins had a double and Luke Pearlstein went three for four with a solo home run and a RBI double.
For the Badgers, Ben Turner went two for three with a double and a RBI, Zach Alaga went three for three with three RBIs and two doubles and Josh Hawks had a RBI single in the third.
