Trojans sweep Bulldogs

POST FALLS — Post Falls sophomore Sean Topp struck out four and did not give up a walk, going the distance to shutout Sandpoint in an 8-0 first-game victory in Thursday's Inland Empire League doubleheader.

Topp drove in the go-ahead run in the second game and the Trojans (8-5 IEL, 9-7) completed the sweep, despite committing five errors in a 4-2 victory.

Post Falls scored six runs in the first three innings of the first game. Heather Poole had two RBIs.

Poole went 2 for 4 with a double and Topp, who had an RBI triple in the third, drove in Justine Winn for the go-ahead run in the fifth.

Sandpoint (0-13, 0-14) plays the Vikings in Coeur d'Alene on Tuesday.
