Hawks sweep Bulldogs in IEL softball doubleheader

RATHDRUM — Despite a Lakeland sweep, Lizzie Dorval hit a two-run homer for Sandpoint (0-16, 0-17) Thursday.

Sophomore Brittany Schneider, brought up from the junior varsity because of injuries, hit a solo homer in each game for Lakeland (9-7 Intermountain League, 10-9).

Heather Simpson and Jodee Janhsen hit two-run homers in the opener for Lakeland.

Sandpoint led 7-2 in the fourth inning of the second game before Lakeland rallied. Kristen Wells' RBI single in the seventh drove in the game winner for the Hawks.

Sandpoint is home against Kellogg today.
