NOTICE OF PUBLIC

HEARING

In re:

Petition to Change School District Boundaries

Tonya Reed, et al., Petitioners v. West Bonner County School District No. 83 and

Lakeland Joint School District No. 272, Respondents

A petition was filed with the Idaho Department of Education pursuant to Idaho Code S 33-308 seeking to excise a portion of the West Bonner County School District No. 83 and annex this real property to the Lakeland Joint School District No. 272.

Notice is hereby given that two public hearings will be conducted regarding the petition. The first hearing will be conducted at the Timberlake Junior High School, 5830 W. Blackwell avenue, Spirit Lake, idaho on August 8, 2005, beginning at 7:00 p.m. The second hearing will be conducted August 10, 2005, at the Priest River Lamanna High School, 1103 Ninth Street, Priest River, Idaho, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Attorney Edward C. Lockwood of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, h as been appointed by the Idaho Board of Education to act as the hearing officer in this matter.

The hearing will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of Title 86, Chapter 52, Idaho Code, and the provisions of IDAPA 04.11.02, under the authority vested in the Idaho Department of Education by the provisions of IDAPA 08.02.01.050.

The purpose of this public hearing is to receive public comment regarding the petition for excision/annexation as stated above. This hearing affords the named parties the opportunity present evidence on their own behalf, or through a representative, and the affected public the opportunity to present comments, both oral and written, regarding th is petition. The hearing officer will issue a written report and recommendation to the Idaho Department of Education for its consideration following the completion of the public hearings.
