Linda Y. Kersey, 54

Linda Y. Kersey, 54, passed away at her home in Sandpoint on Aug. 10, 2005, after a long battle with cancer. Memorial services will be held Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005 in Stockton, Calif.

Linda was born on March 9, 1951, in Los Angeles, to Tom and Bonnie Nelson. She grew up and attended schools in Orange County. Linda served in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1973. Linda married Tommie L. Kersey on May 1, 1971, in La Mirada, Calif. They lived near Stockton for the past 27 years until moving to Sandpoint.

Linda is a member of the United Church of God. She enjoyed sewing, homemaking, traveling, and backpacking.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Tom L. Kersey of Sandpoint; two daughters, Jennifer (Ed) Barba of Fresno, Calif., and Laura Kersey of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren, Bryce, Seth and Blake Barba of Fresno; her parents, Tom and Bonnie Nelson of Stockton, Calif.; a brother, Alan (Vonna) Nelson of Turlock, Calif.; a sister, Michele (Gary) Given of Joshua Tree, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
