Fox viewers are seeking fair and balanced news

| August 15, 2005 9:00 PM

We have now endured two letters from Mr. Bob Wynhausen, in which he criticizes people who watch Fox News. His first letter labeled us "stupid." When criticized for this childish remark, he made a disingenuous apology, followed by another insult. The latter referenced an obscure study labeling Fox viewers and listeners the most uninformed consumers of news media in the country. (I strongly question the methodology and motivation of this "study.")

This type of rhetoric is typical of the left. Anyone who dares to think differently, read books they disagree with, or watch news programs that are not in lock step with NPR and PBS, are subject to ridicule. Bob Wynhausen cannot stand other people watching Fox News. He is afraid we will formulate opinions that differ with his. This fear causes him to demonize us. Thus the name calling and finger pointing.

Tell me, Bob, where do you think I should go in order to become an "informed" consumer of news media? How about Dan Rather on 60 Minutes? Better yet, how about an accurate Newsweek article on the treatment of enemy combatants at Club Gitmo in Cuba?

Freedom of speech is only free if you agree with me. Right, Bob?

P.S. I have no affiliation with Fox News, except as an "informed" consumer of fair and balanced news.
