Bulldogs earn IEL win

RATHDRUM — Kyle Meaux scored a pair of goals, and Sandpoint (2-0) scored a pair of penalty kicks in the Inland Empire League opener for both teams at Corbit Field.

Meaux followed in a missed penalty kick by another Bulldogs late in the first half to make it 2-0.

"Sandpoint outplayed us, but the score didn't really reflect the game itself," Lakeland coach Nick Haynes said. "I thought we played a lot better than we did against Lake City. They (the Bulldogs) have got everybody always attacking. They were a little more aggressive to the ball than we were."

Lakeland (0-2) travels to Post Falls on Thursday.
