Keith Alan Schlussler, 51

Keith Alan Schlussler, 51, passed away, Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Private family services have been held.

Keith was born on June 21, 1954, in El Paso, Texas, to Charles and Carol Schlussler. His father was in the military so the family moved often when Keith was a child.

He graduated high school in Wheatland, Calif., and went on to receive a degree in animal sciences at the College of the Redwoods in Eureka, Calif.

Keith served in the Peace Corps in Ecuador. This is where he met and married Julie McCallan on July 6, 1986. The couple purchased a small farm in Kansas where they started a family. Keith farmed and worked as a carpenter to support the family.

In 1999, they moved to Sandpoint where Julie went to work at the Waldorf School as a teacher.

Keith enjoyed gardening, carpentry and reading. He will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, sense of humor and beautiful gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Julie McCallan of Sandpoint; a daughter, Megan Schlussler of Sandpoint; a son, Ethan Schlussler of Sandpoint; his parents, Chuck and Carol Schlussler of Wheatland, Calif.; three brothers, Mike Schlussler of Wheatland, Calif., John Schlussler of Sacramento, Calif., and Gary Schlussler of Grass Valley, Calif.; and a sister, Vicki Booen of Tucson, Ariz.
