Dorothy Ida Mutz, 85

Dorothy Ida Mutz, 85, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Pastor Steve Nickodemus will officiate with burial in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Friends may call Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, from noon until 3 p.m.

Dorothy was born in Warren, Ohio, where she graduated from high school in 1938 with honors. Following high school, she moved to Oakland, Calif., working as a telephone operator and a bookkeeper.

She married Floyd Mutz on April 27, 1962, in Santa Ana, Calif.

She lived in Diamond Bar, Calif., helping operate a food booth at the L.A. Fairgrounds. For many years, she and her husband, Floyd, lived and traveled as RV'ers. In 1975, they visited Trestle Creek and then moved here in 1977.

Doris was a member of Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sandpoint.

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and a good game of pinochle.

She is survived by her husband, Floyd Mutz of Trestle Creek, Idaho; four children, William Mutz of Redmond, Calif., Paula Baxter of Lake Elsinore, Calif., Marian Ratzak of San Jose, Calif., and Floyd Mutz Jr. of Hawthorne, Nev.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Wendell Swagan of Warren, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
