Ethel Devoe Gwin, 66

Ethel Devoe Gwin, 66, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005 in Sandpoint, Idaho, surrounded by members of her family.

No services have been scheduled.

She was born on Feb. 8, 1939, in Edgerton, Wyo., the seventh child of Roy and Eva Devoe of Kaycee, Wyo. When Ethel was 2 years old, the family moved from Kaycee to St. Maries, Idaho, where she attended elementary and high school, married LaVern Bailey, and later moved to Weippe, Idaho, where their children were raised.

She and Herb Gwin lived in Wyoming for a couple of years; they were married on June 12, 1985, in Weippe, and moved to Sandpoint in 1986, where they settled in the Elmira/Colburn area. Ethel was well known for her beautiful oil paintings, she was an active Lioness in Pierce, Idaho.

Ethel was a registered emergency medical technician, and ran the clinic in Pierce for 21 years. She was loved very much and will be missed by her family and many friends; until we meet again in glory.

She is survived by her husband, Herb Gwin of Colburn, Idaho; a son, Scott Bailey of Sandpoint; daughters, Carolyn and Terry Moore of Weippe, Idaho, Dawn Powers of The Dalles, Ore., Dana (Steve) Hoskins of Troy, Idaho; grandchildren, Amanda Moore of Weippe, Jamie Powers and Andrew Therianos of The Dalles, Carly Rae Hoskins and husband, Tony Geidl, of Moscow, Idaho, and Brooke Hoskins of Moscow; great-grandchildren, Lili-Ana and Lane Joseph Moore of Weippe; brothers, Charles (Rita) Devoe of Lake Stevens, Wash., and Lewis (Juanita) Devoe of Mountlake Terrace, Wash.; a sister, Betty (Bob) Lynch of Otis Orchards, Wash.; her first husband, LaVern Bailey of Weippe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents of St. Maries, Idaho; brothers James Robert of Kaycee, Wyo., Dorsey Devoe of Montrose, Colo., and Frank Devoe of Olympia, Wash.; and grandson Andy Moore of Weippe.
