Clark Fork girls notch first win
POST FALLS — Reyna Allen scored 14 points and the visiting Wampus Cats (1-2) forced the Eagles (3-5) into 27 turnovers in the North Star League opener for both teams.
"They were faster to the loose balls," Post Falls Christian coach Kevin Rouse said of the Wampus Cats. "They played a good game against a team that didn't play a good game."
Emily Bishop scored six points to lead the Eagles.
Allen also added 12 steals, an almost unheard of total for a single player.
"She was very aggressive," said Cats coach Mark Stevens. "Most of her points were off of lay-ups, off of good, tough defense."
Rashell Trunnell added 6 points and ten rebounds, and freshman Bailey Hewitt poured in ten points. The Cats rediscovered their shooting touch that had been missing in the first two losses.
"That's girls basketball," said Stevens. "I knew eventually the shots would start to fall."
The Cats next game is Tuesday at Kootenai.
