Edith L. Jackson, 87, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at Pack River Cemetery.

Edith was born on May 17, 1918 in Shenadoah, Iowa, the daughter of Edwin and Emma (Thompson) Gudgel.

She met the love of her life and married M.D. Jackson on June 22, 1936, in Rockport, Mo. They lived in Shenadoah, Iowa until moving to Sandpoint in 1947.

Edith was active in the Pack River Grange No. 303. She was a loving wife and mother of two, a son, Bob; and a daughter, Judy.

As a wife of a farmer, she was a very busy lady, feeding hay hands and helping with the farm as well as canning and baking.

After M.D. (Delbert) passed away in 1993, she moved from the farm in Selle to Sandpoint. She was a very independent lady and lived by herself until health problems developed. She then moved to Life Care Center of Sandpoint in February 2005.

She is survived by her son, Bob Jackson of Naples, Idaho; daughter, Judy (Don) Barton of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; four grandchildren, Marvin (Sherr) Parson of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Marcy (Dwayne) McNair of Naples, Betty Jackson and Gary Jackson; four great-grandchildren, Chad Parson of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Markell McNair of Kootenai, Idaho, Cody Parson of Coeur d'Alene and Brandon Bergman of Naples; several nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years, Delbert; a sister and a brother.

Mom, you've earned your wings and now you can fly and be with Dad. We love you and miss you.
