Ruth Ellen Clark Stockdale, 91, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, in Coffelt's Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Seneacquoteen Cemetery.
Ruth was born in Sawyer, Idaho, on Jan. 4, 1914, the daughter of Arthur and Nellie Hulquist. She attended the Woodfairie School at Jewel Lake, the Seneacquoteen School and the Long School.
She married Millard Clark on June 31, 1933, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They operated a dairy farm in the Morton area for many years. He preceded her in death in 1969.
She continued to operate the dairy farm with the help of her son, later marrying Fred Stockdale, who passed away in hunting camp in 1974. She later moved to Sandpoint, completing her certified nursing assistant's course, then working as a CNA at the Sandpoint Manor and in home health care, retiring in 1997. For six years, she took her motor home, traveling to Arizona, California and Nevada.
She was a member of Northern Lights, a life member of the Triangle United Club, the Bonner County Extension Club and the Edgemere Grange. For 35 years, she served as a 4-H leader.
She enjoyed elk and deer hunting camps, crocheting, her flowers and going to yard sales.
She is survived by her son, Gene A. Clark of Sagle, Idaho; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Rose) Patton of Sagle and Mrs. Kenny (Joy) Mott of Sandpoint; eight grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Helen Blake of Superior, Mont.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister.
Memorials may be made to the Bonner County Hospice unit.
