COOLIN — A 13-year-old girl on a snowmobile was seriously injured Friday after she collided with a logging truck at Priest Lake.

The girl's identity was not released late Friday. She suffered a broken leg and possibly internal injuries, according to Bonner County Sheriff's officials.

The collision happened just before 3 p.m., about 10 miles up East Shore Road, near the Priest Lake State Forest's Indian Creek Campground. Snow was falling hard at the time of the crash.

An air ambulance from MedStar Northwest was summoned, but the helicopter was unable to respond because of the adverse weather, sheriff's officials said. She was taken by ground ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Wash. Her condition was not available late Friday.

Idaho State Police is reportedly investigating the crash.
