Priest River tops St. Maries, 56-51 (OT)

ST. MARIES — Joey Stark scored seven of his 17 points in overtime to help Priest River run away from St. Maries in Intermountain League action.

The Spartans (6-2 IML, 12-8) led by as many as 15 in the third quarter, but the Lumberjacks (0-7, 7-12) reeled them in with a big fourth quarter.

Zech Szalasi, a 5-foot-9 guard, scored the last seven points of regulation for St. Maries, which outscored Priest River 18-6 in the fourth quarter.

But Stark took over in overtime. Geoff Gregory finished with 15 points and Stevie Walkup added 11.

Ryne Eberlin had a game-high 20 points and Tucker Baker finished with 11 rebounds and six points for the Lumberjacks.

St. Maries plays host to Timberlake on Friday.
