City's noise ordinance doesn't make sense

| February 21, 2005 8:00 PM

It's, indeed, refreshing to read in your paper that Sandpoint continues on the cutting edge of creating an eminently livable community. How many of us have been annoyed by the senseless sound of our neighbors' excessively high-decibel behemoth lawnmowers audaciously chewing up green space at the ungodly hour of noon? Sandpoint, as reported in the Bee, may be the only community in America to confront this infamy head-on … what other community in America has legislated the banning of the noise of lawnmowers during daylight hours? Thanks, dear Bee, for reporting it, and thanks, Sandpoint City Council, for keeping my home town on the cutting edge!
