Wallace knocks off Clark Fork

RATHDRUM — Wallace edged out Clark Fork 43-39 in a very closely matched opener to the 1A District 1 boys basketball tournament Tuesday night at Lakeland High School.

Senior forward Stefan Norris led the No. 4 seed Miners (9-12) with a game-high 16 points, while junior John Keener tacked on 13 to the scoreboard.

"We had some key turnovers in the second half and Keener had 10 points off those turnovers," said Clark Fork coach Jamie Hand.

Senior Clayton Hewitt led No. 5 Clark Fork (6-12) with 13 points and five rebounds in their final game of the season.

Wallace advances to play North Star League champion Lakeside (19-1) on Thursday in Rathdrum.
