CLARK FORK — Scoring a game-high 17 points, Corrina Hendricks led Lakeside to a 47-35 North Star League victory over Clark Fork.

"Hendricks had six free throws in the fourth quarter and one 3-pointer that was a real dagger for us at a critical time," said Clark Fork girls basketball coach Mark Stevens.

With exception of a cold third period offensively for Clark Fork, Stevens said he was pleased with the overall effort the Wampus Cats exhibited Tuesday night.

"We did not shoot the ball well and that's going to happen from time to time," said Stevens. "But as long as they continue to give this kind of effort, like they did tonight, our season is going to improve."

The Wampus Cats were led on the scoreboard by freshman Megan Hess and junior Jolene Meredith. Both girls scored eight points.

"Megan really stepped up tonight and scored six points in the fourth period when we needed her," said Stevens.

Junior Rashell Trunnell finished with 14 rebounds and six points, while sophomore Rayna Allen grabbed six steals.

"Rayna played the best game she has played all season," said Stevens. "She was all over the court tonight and hounded Lakeside pretty good."

Clark Fork (0-1, 1-4) plays Kootenai in Harrison on Thursday.
