Dennis is a top-notch

and caring professional

I am sure everyone working for your sheriff's office is relieved and glad the election season is over. I know ours is. I'm employed at the Boundary County Sheriff's Office and we, too, had a close and tough election year.

I just wanted to take a moment to congratulate your new sheriff and applaud her wise decision to appoint Charles Dennis as your new undersheriff.

Mr. Dennis served as our undersheriff the past four years (and a Bonners Ferry police officer prior to that) and it was a pleasure working with Charlie.

We had an undersheriff who not only cared about every employee, but was an excellent listener and cared deeply about the citizens of our community. He always remained very professional while making the most ethical decisions. His experience and long-time understanding of law enforcement will serve your community very well.

While I am sad he is leaving us, our loss is your huge gain. I would like your entire community to know it was such a pleasure working with the finest — an officer with integrity of the highest caliber. He accomplished a great deal here and I want to thank him for his excellent service in Boundary County.

Honesty, top-notch integrity, optimism and caring deeply about doing the right thing is what Charlie does every day.

He truly "walks the walk."
