Students' events
worthy of support
Recently, my wife and I spent a perfectly delightful two hours at the Sandpoint Community Center watching a presentation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" and listening to holiday music. The evening's entertainment was provided by the Monarch School and Tamarack Horizon Players. The actors and choir put on a fine show and it was readily apparent that the entire production resulted from a great amount of preparation and labor. The play's narrative, acting and pantomime adaptation was creative and the performances were engaging; and the choir's opening, intermission, and closing songs were whimsical and fun.
All in all, the students did a great job and should be pleased with their accomplishments.
We learned of the event from reading the "calendar" section of the Daily Bee, and thought, "What better way to kindle the holiday spirit." It's unfortunate the audience wasn't larger and we encourage the community to pay closer attention to what's going on and work to increase attendance at the activities of all the area students. As they say, "There's no substitute for being there."
