Clifford Joe McChesnie, 69

Clifford Joe McChesnie, 69, passed away Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at Coffelt's Moon Chapel with Pastor Jon Pomeroy from the First Church of God officiating. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery in Hope, Idaho.

Cliff was born on June 5, 1935, in Hope, the son of Edgar and Golda (Gregory) McChesnie. He grew up and attended school in Hope. Following his schooling, he went to work in the woods in the Hope and Clark Fork, Idaho, area which he loved so much.

Cliff married Alma Pearson on Oct. 8, 1955, in Thompson Falls, Mont. They continued to make their home in Hope. In 1970, Cliff started working in construction, not only for himself, but also for Kermit Kiebert Sr. In the mid-1970s, he worked construction as McChesnie and Sons, continuing to work in the Hope and Clark Fork area. It was in 1983 that Cliff shifted his work to residential and commercial construction, even building his own home.

Cliff had a love of life, family gatherings and people. He enjoyed going fishing and hunting, and his horseshoeing and mechanic work.

He is survived by his wife, Alma of Hope, Idaho; four children, Terri (Dave) Simundson of Elk, Wash., Dan (Bonnie) McChesnie of Hope; Andrew (Joylyn) McChesnie of Hope, and Becky (Tom) Jensen of Sandpoint; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Betty Lee Coulthard of Lewiston, Idaho. Cliff was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
