She married Wendle Wickward in 1984, they divorced.

She married Roger Dunkel in 1988, they, too, divorced.

She started her career at Sterling Savings bank in Clarkston. She belonged to the Operating Engineers Local 370 in Spokane and was the most sought after roller operator in the Northwest. Throughout her career she worked for Peak Paving, Valley Asphalt, Poe Asphalt, Acme Paving, Inland Asphalt, Quad Cities Construction, Steelman-Duff and Debco Construction.

Debbie had an incredible zest for life. Her compassionate ways, her beautiful smile, her warm heart and wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
