Make losers pay for all tort claim costs

I agree with Mark Watson concerning tort reform (Jan. 9, 2005). Those who have been wronged by malpractice deserve to be compensated commensurate to the harm done.

The answer, I believe, is to hold the losers of the tort claims/suits responsible for all costs. In line with this the lawyers must pay a percentage equal to what they would have gained in the case. This would put a halt to frivolous lawsuits and still allow those with a legitimate claim to pursue compensation. Any respectable lawyer will still take a lawsuit with merit.
