SANDPOINT — Snowboarders Nate and Pat Holland raced in the Grand Prix Boardercross at Mt. Bachelor, Ore. earlier this month, with Nate placing seventh and Pat finishing 22nd out of a field of 97 competitors.
Nate, hoping to defend his 2004 National Title, advanced to the semi-final round before he meet some "carnage" — commonly known as a crash.
Nate is a member of the U.S. Snowboard team and currently ranks 17th in World Cup events. He lives and trains at Squaw in Tahoe. Calif. His brother, Pat, works at Jackson Hole Resort in Jackson, Wyo. Both are Sandpoint High School graduates, 1998 and 2000, respectably.
The next big event for these guys will be the X-games in Aspen at the end of the month, which will be televised on ESPN.
