Options to DSL exist in the region

Regarding the recent article on "telecommuting heaven," many of us in the area have been happily telecommuting using satellite or wireless internet connections.
There are several local firms who either directly provide these services or handle installation. The cost is not that different from DSL. A clear view of the southern sky is required for satellite. The local wireless antenna is (I believe) on Baldy, and so a clear view to there is required.
Sure, the limited DSL and cable coverage and capacity hardly classifies our area as "telecommuting heaven," but satellite or wireless work just fine (depending on your work) if DSL or cable isn't available.
