RATHDRUM — Sandpoint went on a 4-0 run in the last minute of the third quarter and the Bulldogs were able stay out of reach to beat Lakeland for the second time this season in Inland Empire League action.

Chris Hepperly was 4 of 9 from beyond the arc and 4 of 4 from 2-point range for 25 points. Ben Mitchell knocked down 9 of 11 from the field to finish with 22 for Sandpoint, which outrebounded Lakeland 31-22.

"We were right there. It was 50-47 with a minute left in the third period," Lakeland coach Trent Derrick said. "But they went on a 4-0 run, then hit some shots, made their free throws and we couldn't catch 'em."

The Bulldogs (3-3 IEL, 8-6) held a one-point lead after one and took a 36-34 lead at the half. They gained a little separation and held the Hawks (2-5, 6-8) to just nine fourth-quarter points.
