Clark Fork 33, Post Falls Christian 22
POST FALLS — Tiffany Van Buren hit three 3-pointers and scored a game-high 14 points to lead the Clark Fork girls basketball team past Post Falls Christian 33-22 Thursday night.
Van Buren hit a pair of 3s in the second quarter. Her third came in a six-point fourth quarter as Clark Fork eased away.
Katie Hoye scored 10 points for Post Falls Christian (0-9, 5-13), which committed 31 turnovers. Billie Dust added eight rebounds, four steals and four assists, and Renae Hoye grabbed eight rebounds.
Clark Fork hit 6 of 17 free throws, Post Falls Christian 1 of 2.
Junior Rashell Trunnell led the Wampus Cats, once again, in rebounds with 14, while sophomore Rayna Allen grabbed eight steals.
"They (PFC) have improve a ton. I was impressed," said Clark Fork coach Mark Stevens. "They are competitive now, compared to the first time we played them, which is nice to see."
Clark Fork also finished the night with 24 steals as a result of their press.
"Defensively, we played well. But offensively, I think we kind of stuttered," said Stevens.
Clark Fork (4-3 North Star League, 6-7) plays host to Kootenai on Saturday.
