Walkington, Turner lead Lumbermen to victory

POST FALLS — Quinn Walkington went 3 for 4 and drove in four runs, two on a third-inning single, as the Sandpoint Riley Creek Lumbermen beat University 11-5 on Friday at the River City Rumble American Legion baseball tournament at Post Falls High School.

Ben Turner hit a three-run homer in the second inning for Sandpoint (7-15-1), 1-1 in pool play in the eight-team tourney.

The Lakers play Caldwell this morning at 10 to wrap up pool play, then play again at either 1 or 4 p.m., depending on other developments.
