Girl Scouts appreciate community's support

| July 9, 2005 9:00 PM

Junior Girl Scout Troop 405 of Sagle would like to take this opportunity to thank the generous residents of Bonner County as well as the many delightful tourists passing through who have who have allowed us to wash their cars this summer. Since the troop formed last year the girls have been on a mission to raise enough funds to pay for all their various badge work activities, field trips, uniforms and other troop activities. Car washes have been their choice summer fund-raising event. During the school year the girls have also raised funds through various Girl Scout fund-raisers such as magazine sales and cookie sales.

This summer the girls are planning a trip to Fort Steele, spending a day learning about and riding horses and working on various individual badge work. During this time the girls will also be looking for a community project that will help them earn their Bronze Award, the first of the three highest awards a girl scout can earn in scouting. The Bronze Award is the highest award a Junior Girl Scout can earn and is one that sets them on a path of helping others and improving their community.

Thank you again for your support of girl scouting and in particular our troop. A special thank you to Crane Construction, Talache Construction and Bean Hive Espresso for your exceptional generosity. Look for us again this summer washing cars at Bean Hive Espresso on Highway 2.
