GOP capitalizing on hate in Idaho

| July 27, 2005 9:00 PM

Canadians have no more understanding of gay lifestyle than Americans but Canada has made the statement that all minorities are part of Canada.

Few are affected by gay rights. Most are uncomfortable with the subject and prefer not to be involved.

Everyone can think of something more important to their pursuit of happiness than attacking gays. Many understand that gay issues on the ballot distracts from more important items. Some realize that hate on the ballot is bad for local business.

During the campaign "pro hate" and "anti hate" people will avoid doing business with each other, which is a boon to out of state catalog companies.

Why is anti gay measure an important part of the Idaho State Republican platform? The Republican party realizes that some people love to hate. Placing an issue on the ballot that stirs hate and religion brings out the right wing people. This is a boost to those that believe we are better off with a one party government.

Our two north Idaho senators voted to place the gay issues on the ballot. Both claim they are not bad people, just doing what the people of north Idaho want! Were these good senators doing what is good for north Idaho or just supporting the Republican party?

They are Republicans first and point out the need for a balance of power government.
