Christie Vanator, 49, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, died May 29, 2005, at her home.

A gathering and potluck meal for family and friends will be held from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2005, at Yates Funeral Home Gathering Center, 373 E. Hayden Ave. in Hayden, Idaho.

She was born Jan. 29, 1956, in Lewiston, Idaho, to Charles and Alice Vanator. She graduated from high school in Lewiston and attended college to enter the juvenile legal profession. In the early 1980s she moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, where she worked at the Cowgirl, at Wal-Mart and K-mart and various other jobs. In 2004 she moved to Coeur d'Alene to be closer to family members and she worked at Center Partners.

Christy loved children and had extended family in Sandpoint as well as many friends. She enjoyed camping, swimming, reading and traveling.

She is survived by her niece, Becky Smith of Coeur d'Alene; and nephew, Ralph Dazey of Spokane, Wash. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clifford "Skip" Vanator; and a sister, Carole James Vanator.
