Billie Frost

| June 6, 2005 9:00 PM

Billie Frost, a former Sandpoint resident, passed away on May 24, 2005, after an extended illness.

A memorial will be held later this summer when family and friends will say good-bye together.

She had lived in Enumclaw, Wash., most of her adult life on a dairy farm with her husband, Jack, and her two sons, Jack Frost of Enumclaw and Steve Frost of Sandpoint.

Billie was born in Spencer, Neb., in 1924, moving soon to White River, S.D., with her parents, Jesse and Catherine Shaffer and her nine siblings.

In 1935, the family moved to Sandpoint and, after a few years, bought the Ponderay Hotel (now the lot at Taylor Parker Motors). Billie and the rest of the family were involved in Sandpoint life and commerce through their early lives.

Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Frost; her brothers, Jay, Bob, Jack and Don Shaffer; and her sisters, Zola Levaton, Zeola David, Ilene Spring and Darleen Kizer. She is survived by her brother, Butch Shaffer; her two sons, Jack and Steve Frost; innumerable grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces galore.

Billie lived a full life, full of challenges and realities and steadfast goals.

We will all miss her.
