America isn't trying to Christianize world

| June 8, 2005 9:00 PM

Bill Litsinger in his guest opinion on June 2, said America's foreign policy desire, among other things, was to democratize and Christianize the entire planet. I hope the American Civil Liberties Union doesn't find out about that. Our armed forces have a certain percentage of Moslems, not to mention everything else under the sun. The use of our Islamic personnel to force other Moslems to convert to Christianity would be a violation of church and state. Shoot, we have trouble converting our own nation.

As for his war parallels, I guess, between Kool-Aid gulps, he forgot to mention that North Vietnam was being supported by the other super power in the world at that time; and when the political party that got us into the war pulled the plug on its support of South Vietnam, it quickly deteriorated into a lopsided battle not unlike a match between the New England Patriots and the Kootenai County Eagles. Who cares about the millions of folks that were exterminated as a result in southeast Asia? It was only democracy at stake.
