COEUR d'ALENE — Tom Barlow and Nic Duman each drove in three runs, and the Coeur d'Alene Lumbermen remained undefeated with an 11-1 victory over the Sandpoint Lakers in class AA North Idaho League play Thursday night at McEuen Field.

Cory Kreighbaum hit a solo homer in the fourth inning and Barlow added a two-run shot for Coeur d'Alene (4-0 NIL, 6-0), which beat the Lakers for the second time in three days.

Alex Wolfe singled in Noah Hawkins in the fourth inning as Sandpoint (2-2, 2-2) pulled within 5-1.

In the bottom of the fourth, Kreighbaum hit his homer, and three batters later, Barlow added his two-run shot. The Lums scored three more times in the fifth inning to end the game early on the 10-run rule.

"The great thing we did tonight is we came right back and answered," Coeur d'Alene coach Jim Straw said.

Barlow doubled in a run in the first inning, and Kreighbaum added an RBI single in the second.

Being undefeated after six games is nice, but it's the way the Lums are going about it that pleases Straw.

"The record takes care of itself," Straw said. "Tonight the kids came out and took care of business. They competed every single at bat. The approach that they're taking, we're really happy with."

Alex Capaul struck out five in five innings for Cd'A, which returns to action Tuesday at home against the Spokane Cannons.
